Val McKern
My role in life has always been to support the growth of mind, body and spirit. As a mom, teacher and principal, I have been drawn to healing and growth through adventure, art and yoga. Kettle River Gatherings is allowing my passion to take a giant leap forward as a place to relax, rejuvenate and reflect.
Living beside the Kettle River is a gift that I love to share. Most days I am blessed to have family or friends joining me as we nurture our body, minds and spirits together. Each season brings a different joy and awe.
Finding the perfect balance in life while serving others is my dream!
Val's Story
Hello! Kettle River Gatherings has been a dream of mine for years. Through my life I have loved opportunities to grow my mind, body and spirit in nature. As a mom, teacher and elementary principal, I had many opportunities to share this love. Kettle River Gatherings allows me to share this love through wellness retreats that pamper in our rustic setting, while feeding the mind, body and spirit.
Once settled in, I found that Kettle River Gatherings is a treasure to be shared. This is the perfect setting for small gatherings. Whenever there is free time, you find me hosting family and friends and filling my own heart with love.

In the summer of 2020, Debbie completed the teacher training program through My Vinyasa Practice to become a certified RYT 200 instructor. In 2022, Debbie became certified as a SUP (stand-up paddle board) yoga instructor through SUP Yoga Center.
Patient Paradise Yoga launched in 2021 offering monthly yoga and wellness retreats along with weekly vinyasa yoga classes at Kettle River Gatherings with Val McKern. In the summer of 2022, Debbie added SUP yoga classes in various locations around Lake Roosevelt and the Kettle River. All classes are vinyasa style and suitable for all levels, and props and modifications are offered throughout each class.
